HCI trip December 2009
Hwa Chong Institution, a junior college based in Singapore, brought a group of award winning students to the Silicon Valley in December of 2009 for Professional Study Tour. The students were part of a group that took 1st place in a business plan in which they competed against 40 other student groups. Their award was an all-expense paid trip to Silicon Valley for a Professional Study Tour.
The group’s objectives were to meet with large, successful organizations to gain firsthand experience on how startup companies are formed and the challenges faced by the entrepreneurs. Also, to learn about the new innovations coming out of Silicon Valley both at the corporate and start-up level, and gain insight into the differences between corporations and start-ups.
GEP provided visits to Microsoft, Ask.com, US MAC Incubator, Stanford University, Berkeley University, Lightspeed Ventures, the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce, Midomi and PARSA. Additionally, GEP was responsible for cultural site visits to Gilroy and San Francisco and all of their logistical needs.
GEP was proud to work with HCI to provide their student group with a Professional Study Tour™. They were an excellent group of knowledgeable and ambitious student entrepreneurs and we were honored to service them. We look forward to working with them again in the future.
